Ventoux Fixed Gear

18/06/22

Organised by ATRACKTION, this event gathered many fixed gear riders to climb the mythical Mont Ventoux.
Starting from Bedoin, which is the most difficult path at 7.5% average gradient for over 21km, this was clearly a challenge for most of us.
We went back down towards Sault, which is a very smooth descent, perfectly doable brakeless.

People often tell me when they see my Parallax things like “you can’t really go where you want with a bike like this…”
So I am particularly proud to have brought it up there.
Gear ratio used: 44x18.

Thanks to Pista Cycling Café for the breakfast and the chilll post-climb evening.
Kudos to @flavine_slordel, not only for climbing on his Omnium Cargo, but also for carrying my backpack to the top!
I thought that using a backpack to get quick access to my camera was a good idea, but it gave my enormous back pain… it was a huge mistake.

I can’t wait to be there again next year!
