What/who is “CYYYCLES”
Well, this is just one person, Julien Douvier, born in 1990 in Strasbourg, France.
I’m a bicycle mechanic somewhere near Paris. I used to be a pro photographer/content creator (not related to bicycles) some time ago, but not anymore.
It was too much confusing paperwork, which I’m not good at. So now, I just repair bicycles, and shoot some in my freetime.
I actually started to shoot bikes in 2014 to learn how to use a camera, when I thought that I could be a pro photographer. But that didn’t work as I thought. I only stayed a pro photographer for a few years. But I’ve never stopped to shoot bikes since then. You can see what I used to do as my work here, in the “before bikes” section.
Now, I tighten bolts and replace inner tubes for a living. It is what it is.
Then, in 2023, I was involved in a very bad car-vs-bike accident, which almot got me dead. I woke up after three weeks of coma, and realised that all of my bike pictures would have disappeared if I had died, because they only existed digitally, on this website. I didn’t really like this idea, so I decided to create a book. With a book, the existence of my photos doesn't just depend on my own.
