BEFORE BIKES

Before shooting bikes, I used to create looping images as .gif files from videos I shot.

I created a lot of images mostly for myself, and a few brands were interested in having some with their products, so for a few years that’s what I did.

I didn’t really know much stuff about cameras, video or photography, so I started to shoot my friends and their bikes to learn how to use my camera, this is how I got addicted to bicycles.

But this job was too much paperwork, which I’m terrible at, so it only lasted a few years, then I stopped and became a bike mechanic. But I’ve never stopped shooting bikes, I don’t really know why.

Here is what I used to do:

Personnal work:

Commissioned work:

Canal+ Versailles (TV series advertising).
Those loops were displayed in train and metro stations in France.

Chanel × Grazia.
Loops made for a watch.

Bouygues Telecom.
Loops shots during the filming on a TV ad for Bouygues Telecom.

ASUS CHI.
This was a series of loops made for ASUS and their very silent laptop (I only have one image left, but there were many).

CIC bank.
A series of humorous loops created for the French bank CIC.

eJust.
Humorous l oops created for an online lawyer service.

GreyGoose vodka.
Loops (and packshot) about a cocktail based on vodka and coffee, to be enjoyed with a chocolate pastry.

Kenzo - Eau de Lumière.
Loops for Kenzo that can be put together one after the other to form a film with a message.

Mercure Hotels.
Humorous loops for a chat bot created by Mercure hotels, which was sometimes replying to people with those images.

Mette Henriette.
These loops were shot during a musical performance by Mette Henriette Martedatter Rølvåg, a performing artist, saxophonist, and composer from Norway, filmed on a remote island in Norway.

Petit Bateau.
Loops shot during the filming of a commercial for children's clothing brand Petit Bateau.

I loved doing this, but today I just tighten screws and change inner tubes as a bike mechanic…
