CAR & BIKE TRIP.
× Summer 2021, a few days across the Alps between France & Italy, with Sophie Potter.
The idea was to climb a few famous Alpine passes—by car, by bike, and sometimes with both, one after the other.
Sophie was driving her car, a Renault 4; our bikes were stowed inside, along with all the gear we needed for eating and spending the night outdoors.
Basically, it was like a bikepacking trip, but with a car in the mix so we could tackle several mountain passes in a row without spending too much time traveling between them. But we sleept outside in a different location every night.
Here is a list of what we’ve done (I might miss a few):
× By Bike only:
Mont Ventoux; Col de Sampeyre.
× By Car only:
Col du Parpaillon; Colle Fauniera; Col Agnel; Col d’Izoard; Col de l’Iseran.
× With both, one after the other:
Col du Galibier; Cormet de Roselend.
I want to do this again.
